I never was a straight A student in school and did not have above average writing skills. Luckily, I did learn how to type while in high school and that has turned out to be the most valuable thing I learned in school; which has assisted me greatly in my adult life. I currently head-up about 8 blogs online and its these blogs that have created fame, money, and a lot of other things I am very thankful for. If only my English, writing, and grammar school teachers could see me now. I think they would be just as amazed as I am, for all of the powers my online blogs have given me on the World Wide Web. My latest reminder came from one of the owners of Volcano Hits and recognizing one my blogs for giving them a link back to their traffic exchange. It was the Volcano Hits listing at Alexa.com that showed one of my online blogs linking to the Volcano Hits TE website.
This blog ranked number 19 on the list of websites linking in to the Volcano Hits website. I don’t think they noticed it, but I actually had another blog of mine; which is listed even higher than this one; which was linking into their website. Before I reveal just which blog that was, I would like to go back and look at some of the attention and wealth my blogs have given me over the years.
My claim to fame and without a doubt my happiest day as a blogger came when a blogging company paid a surprise visit to my house. I never would have thought one of my blogs online could lead to an event like this happening. Lucky for me, they brought along their own camera man and was able to record my best day ever as a blogger. Some people probably wouldn’t even believe me, but I got proof to show this actually did happen to me, on one fine summer afternoon day a few years back.
My Best Day Ever as a Blogger!
While it will be tough to top this day, I have had a lot of other great days as a blogger. Like for instance, the morning I woke up to see I had won a $100 blogging contest at EasyAdBucks. When you can make a hundred bucks for just writing one blog post in about 30 minutes, it’s another example of just how powerful blog power is. I have also did numerous paid posts for advertisers seeking a little more online exposure or a higher placement in the search engines. I have did several posts for $100 – $125 for various advertisers; who were promoting various services and products online. It really is a nice feeling when you can sit down at the computer for 1 hour or less and make a $100 online. Keep in mind, I have no special writing skills, people skills, technical skills, or anything like that. I’m sure others could make a whole lot more money than me. The people who actually do know how to write, have good communication skills, and the ability to create and design websites from scratch. All of these people could have success as a blogger online too.
Now as I mentioned earlier, I did have another blog which is also recognized at Alexa for an incoming link for the Volcano Hits website. My Making Sense Out of the World Blog or the web address name: pernchumchon.com is at number 17 on the list. I’m not sure how many times I have the Volcano Hits website listed on this blog, but it’s probably because of a blog post I wrote called Marketing in the Best Ways Online, because I do include their link on this post.
I have grown to love Internet marketing and blogging online. I now do this full time and it’s my 40 hour a week job; which I actually spend 60 or more hours a week doing this gig. I am grateful for all of the success and attention I have received over the years and I hope I can continue to succeed online with my blogs and other online programs I have a current interest in. This latest email from Volcano Hts is just one more reminder to why I continue to do what I do. If you haven’t started a blog online yet; then you really should think about doing it. There are currently over 115 million blogs online and this number continues to grow by leaps and bounds each day. The bloggers have been the ones who have shaped the Net and search engines to what they are today. All online users can expect to see bloggers leading the way into the future too!

Success of the iPhone
I recently went down to our local AT&T store to check out the new iPhone that has been in the news. After playing with the device I was sure that this was my next phone. I am not usually one to jump on the technology that has been just released but I must say the features and ease of use of this phone is incredible. My other question was since this is supposed to be internet friendly and we are able to watch YouTube videos how much extra were the services going to be. Luckily they have thought this part through and the iPhone has it’s own plans with unlimited web and email. The plans are comparable to their standard plans with just a few less minutes. But with their roll over minutes and the fact that everyone who I call that is on the AT&T network don’t count towards my minutes this make for a great buy.

There are a many sites that offer free link popularity checks for your URL. Why is it so important to have sites that link into you? Google and other search engines appear to be placing more value on links that are coming into a site, than they used too. It used to be that optimizing keywords and enhancing your meta tags would help. Top 100 Books (41-60)
It’s time to pick back up on my countdown to the top 100 books of all time. I am an American, so most of the book authors I know live in America or wrote a story pertaining to the States. I tried my best to include the best authors and books from all over the world. I did not intentionally discriminate any country, author, or book title in determining the top 100 books.
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Perhaps you have read this book or seen the movie For Whom the Bell Tolls. This story took place in Spain during the early days of World War II. You can see the brave American Gary Cooper trying to help Ingrid Bergman and her group of Spanish fighters in the movie. The movie was done in a way that Ernest Hemingway approved of and he did have a voice in this classic movie. This was due to the fact, Ernest Hemingway is the author of For Whom the Bell Tolls. Most book worms have read this classic story or saw the movie that featured a lot of big time Hollywood actors and actresses, as everyone in Hollywood back then wanted to be a part of this great Hemingway novel. No big surprise to see Cooper get the leading role, as he and Hemingway were big time buddies and even hunted together. This is just one of the classic novels that will appear on the countdown in this list of 20 books from the top 100 books in the world.

I haven’t made the choice to rent it yet on PPV-TV that I have on the satellite dish. I’m not so sure I would like this movie, but there is a lot of buzz around it. It’s another science fiction movie that has went way over the budget, in terms of putting together these spectacular scenes that look really cool. I hear the same guy that did this movie, was also the person who did the Titanic movie; which was not a science fiction movie.
I look at Avatar like the Lord of the Rings movies. These are just fantasy movies; where the older kids and some of the science-fiction-loving adults like to spend their money on. I would prefer a movie that was based on a true story. I haven’t heard anyone say that Avatar was a fictional movie, but just by seeing the previews and some of the stills from the movie Avatar, I think its safe to say this is a fictional piece of work.
I can tell this movie involves a love story. This seems to be the only way Hollywood directors and writers can create plots these days. For their movies to have a plot, they feel like they need a few scenes of dialogue and a love story brewing in it. I wish these guys living out in L.A. would create more movies with a good plot and do it without doing the same old love story; that’s been done a hundred million times or more. I’m not for sure the Avatar movie is a love story, but a lot of the clips I have seen, certainly suggest that it is a love story.
Shawshank Redemption
If you remember the movie Shawshank Redemption, you can remember how well the plot was in this movie. It was another “Escape From Alcatraz” type movie, but more importantly, it achieved a good plot without going down lovers lane. It is possible to create a good movie and a movie with a plot, without having the same old love story we see in so many Hollywood movies. I think more directors and writers should use the formula from the Shawshank Redemption movie to create stories with plots. The story-line of a movie has to be good and it has to look appetizing from the start. If a new movie doesn’t do something good or fantastic in the early scenes, most movie-watchers may not stick around to see what happens next. A movie like Shawshank doesn’t grab us at first, but luckily a few people did stick around to see what this movie was about and soon the word got passed around enough, where everyone wanted to see what the Shawshank buzz was about.
Does anyone think this new movie Avatar will grab us in the way the Shawshank Redemption did? I guess it’s possible, since I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I don’t think its going to stand up to the Shawshank very well. I’m already turned off by the love story that appears to take place in the movie Avatar. I hope James Cameron and his crew gave more than just a science fiction love story, which has some really cool-looking creatures playing in it. I guess I will just have to watch Avatar soon, so I can say for sure, if this is a good movie or not.
