New Games Online for Kids

Not only is there a lot of new kid games online to play, but there is more for them, than the adult crowds. This is how it is suppose to be. Gaming was never suppose to be a big industry for adults. We are not still playing games after 20 are we? The sad truth is yes we are and there is really no age limit to gaming. I am happy to see the kids, who get simple and free games to play online. They can sit in front of the computer, with some of the easiest games possible and be very entertained. Adults want to have all the high tech graphics and this causes problems. We have adult video games online, that our young kids are wanting to play. They don’t understand that some games are for adults only. Most children know adults don’t like to play as much as they do. It becomes pretty messed up; when the parents are taking the game controllers at home and playing more than their kids.

Please let the kids have their games! Adults need to share more and allow their children to play these video games online and the games with the fancy $300 gaming systems. I know a few adults now, that play games a little more than they should be playing. The rules of our society dictate that the man of the household should have a job or be the bread winner of the family. Don’t get me wrong ladies. It is perfectly fine for the women to make the most money at home. The point I am trying to make is that the men should have jobs and be making something. If the husband makes 300 dollars a week and their wife brings home $600 a week, this is no big deal. The family is getting paid well each week and the husband is bringing home 1/3 of the family earnings. If a family is living on $200 to $500 per week and the woman is bringing home 90% or more of the income; then the man or husband needs to change that. Especially if he is sitting around all day playing games; while his wife works hard to keep the bills paid.

Life is funny sometimes. We try to teach our kids the best things and we work hard, so maybe one day they want have to. Then you have the lazy dads or men, who choose to play kids games way too much and neglect their parental duties. I hope no woman is supporting her family; while her husband plays games online all day.

Kids are great and the games online was meant for them. Please show your child a game online today and watch their big eyes as they play these new games for the first time. I love to watch my nephews playing a game on the computer. You will see their eyes real big and they will shift their bodies back and forth, trying to make their characters on the screen move a certain way. Games are for kids and making money is for the men or the parents. Please remember that everyone and have a great day today!

Growing Big Pumpkins

How do they grow big pumpkins? Have you ever tried to grow a pumpkin? I know pumpkins are for Halloween, but if we don’t start growing them now, we won’t have any pumpkins around for the spooky holiday season.

I did find some pumkin seeds at Amazon. These seeds only cost about 55 cents for a pack of 15 huge pumkin seeds. Parents could actually order this for their kids and have a contest. See which child can grow the biggest pumpkin by Halloween. See if any of the kids come online and look for pumkin growing tips. I don’t really have any tips for growing big pumpkins. I have seen those pumpkins that are well over 100 pounds and that is a big pumpkin. Some pumpkin growers can grow their pumpkins to several hundred pounds. I believe I am going to give it a try this year. I figure for 55 cents, I can get my money’s worth. The shipping and handling will be 3 or 4 dollars, but you can still get the opportunity to grow 15 very large pumpkins for less than 5 bucks.

I have heard its best to let the vine grow several small pumkins. Once you see one pumpkin clearly bigger than the rest on the pumpkin vine. You can remove all of the smaller ones, so only one pumpkin has the full-use of the vine. This is how pumpkin farmers get their pumpkins so big in the garden. I guess the same is true for watermelons too. Please let me know if you order the pumpkin seeds online and keep me updated to the progress of your pumpkins. Have fun!

9/11 America:The Way I Remember September 11th 2001

You probably have heard many 9/11 stories and even have your own to tell. Here is my story and the way I remember the events taking place; when I first got word, a fire had broke out in one of the W.T.C. Towers in Manhattan, NY on September the 11th.

It’s been 9 years ago today. Although today may be the anniversary of this event in American history, this is one anniversary we don’t celebrate. We only remember it, because we made ourselves a promise nine years ago today, that we would never forget and we make that promise one more time again. We Won’t Forget. We Will Never Forget.

My story begins online and I recently had heard about a website, where you could play tons of different games and they were all free. The name of this website is Pogo and one of the games they offered there (and still do) is Spades. A card game which is typically played by 4 people. It’s a lot like the game of Hearts, but there are some differences. I love to play Spades, but it’s hard to get 4 people in real life to play this card game. The online gaming community makes this very simple, since there is always plenty of people online and especially at Pogo looking to play Spades.

Now I had been playing Spades for awhile at Pogo, so I wasn’t too new to the games over there. I had played enough Spades, where I had a good online friend and Spades partner, who would play with me on most nights. She was a nurse working a 3rd shift at a hospital and she would often get some free time in the overnight hours, to come online and play Spades with me. We made a good team and won a lot of games.

Now on the night of September 10th, I came online and started playing Spades at Pogo. A few hours later, my Spades partner (the nurse) found which room I was in and she sat down to play a few hands with me. She eventually had to go back to work, so I continued to play with strangers online for the remainder of the night. It was already daylight and I continued strong for a couple of more hours, but was beginning to get real tired. I live in Georgia on the east coast, so it probably gets daylight in my area, about the same hours the Sun starts to peek out in New York City.

Well I was getting ready to call it a night and was playing my last few hands; when a new player came to the table and began to chat. He first said “anyone watching the news?”.  Another member in our Spades game said “yes”.  Then between the two of them chatting, I picked up enough to know, that one of the World Trade Center Towers was on fire. I then spoke up and told them this would be my last game, I had been up all night, and I think I will go lay down and watch the WTC fire on TV as I drift off to sleep. So I got off the PC and turned on the TV. Sure enough, the first channel I turned to, had the burning tower and was showing a live shot.

My first thought, when I seen the tower on fire for the first time was “how are they going to get water that high up or a ladder that high to put out that fire?”. I continued to watch the TV and listen to all of the speculations going on. There were some reports that a plane had hit the building, some reports suggested a mail bomb went off, and a few other things were floating around out there. So at this point, no one knew for sure what was going on or why the WTC tower was on fire.

Then the news people switched off to a news reporter, who was talking about the fire and you had a good close-up of the burning building in the background. A plane came into the picture frame for just a brief moment; then it hit the other WTC tower. My first thoughts after seeing the plane hit “OMG…the water plane which was there to dump water on the fire has accidentally hit the other building. This is so awful…..OMG!”. At this point, my tired body and weary eyes from playing Spades all night long, was suddenly gone and I sat up to see what they were going to do now. It wasn’t long after the 2nd plane hit the building, is when the TV reporters started to say this was a terrorist attack. I really thought it was a small airplane (filled with water), that hit the 2nd tower on that September morning. I didn’t realize just how big those buildings in N.Y. were and how they could make a jumbo jet look that small.

I went and told my daddy to turn on the television, so he could start watching the events that were unfolding in New York City. I then called my cousin up; which he didn’t answer the phone, but I just left him a message on the phone recorder to turn on the news. Shortly later, he would call me back and we talked on the phone for a few minutes. It wasn’t long after we had hung up, when the people on TV asked for everyone in America to please stop making phone calls, unless it was important or an emergency. Seems the phone was the first place a lot of people went to, so they could pass the news about 2 planes crashing up in New York.

The next thing I remember happening was the reports of a fire near the Pentagon and speculation began about it and if it was related to the NYC events. There was also reports of about 10 airplanes; which air traffic controllers had lost contact with. Reports from Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. and the northern Virginia area were all reporting about unusual incidents and it looked like 9/11 was much bigger than what we know today and the reports that actually had some truth behind them.

Now the whole 9/11 day; which included 4 airplane crashes, all took place in about a 2 hour time frame. No further damage from the skies had took place; once noon time on the east coast had got here, all of the events were well behind us. There was two things that happened after; which I personally found to be amazing. The first thing was the smoke in Manhattan. There was so much smoke around this part of New York City, it just continued to come from the area where the World Trade Center had once stood. In fact, 2 weeks later, we could still see tons of smoke at the crash site and I found that to be incredible.

Another thing I can clearly remember is the TV commercials. Once your regular programming had been interrupted with the first NYC plane crash, the news stations on all of the channels never broke coverage. From those first few moments on Tuesday morning, until Sunday evening at 6 p.m. in the East, the news ran non-stop. We had 6 days (if you count Tuesday) of 24 hour news; which really was 24 hour news of commercial free programming. The guys on the air never took any breaks and never went to a commercial once. The Sunday following 9/11, they took a 30 second or 1 minute break, and this was the first commercial TV viewers had got, since the breaking news coverage had interrupted the normal programming. Now this brief 30 second or 1 minute break, was a 9/11 commercial and I believe it was Red Cross, asking for donations and paying tribute to those who had died on 9/11 and were still trapped on that following Sunday. Most people don’t remember the non-stop media coverage we got after 9/11 and my hat’s off to those guys. They ran 6 days of commercial free, live programming, so concerned Americans could have the latest stories and information; which was coming in all that week and beyond.

That is my 9/11 story. Just another American who remembers what they were doing, when they heard about the tragic and awful events of that beautiful, fall day in the Big Apple of New York, the Pennsylvania Field, and at the site of the Pentagon in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

*PS – My spades partner, who I enjoyed so much, I never have seen her again. Last spades game I ever played with her, was in the early morning hours of 9/11/2001. She was a nurse from Texas. All I can remember, don’t even remember her POGO screen name.

My Final 4 NFL Team Prediction in the 2010 Season

I know when we think about the final four, we think about March Madness and the Final 4 in college basketball. Since the NFL has a playoff system, unlike the NCAA football teams (who really need one), there will come a time in January where only 4 teams remain alive to win a Super Bowl. I believe I have a pretty firm grasp on the 2010 NFL football season; which will determine the teams in the 2011 Super Bowl.

To pick a final 4 in the NFL, you need to pick two teams from the AFC and 2 teams from the NFC. Every year, we have the AFC Championship Game and the NFC Championship Game and the winner of these two games, are the two lucky teams who get to play in the Super Bowl each year. So in order for me to name a final four in the National Football League, I am really just predicting which 4 teams will play in these 2 championships games in the NFL. I know everyone will have a pre-season pick for which two teams they see participating in the 2011 Super Bowl, but I figured I would make it a little harder and choose the final 4 teams, who will be the last standing in the 2010/2011 NFL football season.

Let me know how many teams you think I got right in my final 4 prediction and you can pick your own 4 teams you think will be left to play in the NFC and AFC championship games. Please just get your predictions in as early as possible. If you come here around Thanksgiving, your prediction is worthless. A Halloween prediction isn’t really that good either. If you let me know your 4 team NFL prediction before the Week 3 games begin, I will allow you official entry into my little NFL Final Four Prediction Contest for the 2010 Football Season.

In the highly competitive and super talented AFC Division, I see the best quarterback in the game today, at least leading his horse-shoe helmet team to an appearance in the AFC title game. Yes, Peyton Manning hands down is the best current quarterback in the NFL and the best all-time QB the League has ever seen. The Indianapolis Colts is my number 1 seed for a NFL final 4 showing.

The number 2 seed in my final 4 bracket heads to the NFC, where we find the 2nd best QB currently playing in the League and is also the defending Super Bowl Champions. Former San Diego Charger quarterback Drew Brees is without doubt the 2nd best quarter back in the NFL today. His New Orleans Saints will have a bulls-eye on their back, being the Super Bowl Champs, but they are good enough to meet these challenges each Sunday and will be playing in the 2010 NFC Championship Game.

I got the easy part over with and most would agree the Colts and Saints make it at least this far in the upcoming 2010/2011 NFL Season. Now time to breakdown the rest of the football league and decide which teams get a chance to play the Saints and Colts in January of 2011.

I will start in the AFC because I really only see a two team race. I like Randy Moss and the New England Patriots the best, if they will throw the ball to the best wide receiver ever. The coach of New England and Tom Brady are slightly above average NFL people, but Randy Moss is the brightest NFL superstar the game has ever seen. The Pittsburgh Steelers start the season with a 3rd string quarterback, but I think they get tough near the end and will be playoff ready. I can only pick one and I like the Patriots and Steelers both, but let’s go ahead and say Moss gets the ball in New England and this puts them in the AFC Title Game.

2011 AFC Championship Game Prediction - Indianapolis Colts 29 vs. New England Patriots 27

Now let’s see who gets to play the Saints team in the NFC division. I like 4 teams in this division. 3 of them in the East. You have the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants. These 3 teams and the Arizona Cardinals all have a good chance to see the 2011 championship game for the NFC. Cowboys find a way to mess it up each year and 2010 will be no different, so cross them out. The NFC East becomes a quarterback battle between Eli Manning and the Eagles real QB in Philly, which is Michael Vick. Forget who the Eagles start the season with as their starting QB. The Eagles are Mike Vick’s team and look for number 7 to edge out the Giants for the East crown. If the Eagles don’t get smart fast, we might just see Manning carry his Giants to the promise land in 2010. You can’t overlook the Arizona Cardinals fantastic bunch they have on offense. I won’t be surprised to see the Cardinals playing in the NFC Championship Game, but I will give my last final four prediction to Michael Vick.

2011 NFC Championship Game Prediction – New Orleans Saints 42 vs. Philadelphia Eagles 10

Since I have team predictions and the score for each championship game, I guess I should go ahead and officially get my 2011 Super Bowl Prediction in and give a winner and final score.

2011 Super Bowl Prediction – New Orleans Saints 24 vs. Indianapolis Colts 21

That is my final 4 NFL prediction. What is yours?

Kids Playing Games Online for Free

No more Santa Claus is needed, if your child has a computer and it’s connected to the Internet. This is due to the fact that it is Christmas 365 days a year online, because the kids and teens can get a new video game each day! You would never believe all the free kid games online and just how easy it is to play these free games for kids. If you go to search for these games using Google, MSN (Bing), or Yahoo; you will see all the websites that host these free games online. Don’t be surprised if you get caught playing them too. They are a lot of fun and you may just be fighting with the kids, to see who gets next game.

I have always loved video games. I have bought the Atari, Nintendo, and Playstation gaming consoles in the past. Nothing wrong with these game systems, but each new game you get for them, does cost a pretty penny. The latest and greatest games like Alan Wake, the Tom Clancy games, or others are worth the asking prices for these games. You can save a little money, buy choosing a game like Balloon Pop, but soon you will want to play a modern game that has all the latest graphics, like the new Alan Wake video game for XBox.

I know one free game online; which all kids would love to play. Get your kids to go play Ice Age free online and just watch their eyes get big and the smiles on their cute, little faces. Most of the younger generation has seen or heard about the Ice Age movie. The kids can now take it a step further and play a game that allows them to interact with the characters from Ice Age. This is a funny movie, but its even a better video game online. The Ice Age game that sells online is called Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and this is one of the top selling video games for kids right now. If they don’t like this Christmas present, you will be able to find them a new one in no time! The computer can connect your children to free games online and they will never run out of new games to play. There truly is a lifetime’s worth of games the parents and kids can play anytime they want.
